Aguda, Surulere – September 26, 2025
It was an inspiring display of intellect and talent as Coker-Aguda LCDA hosted its Spelling Bee Competition on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Pupils and students from primary and secondary schools across the council area showcased remarkable zeal, confidence, and brilliance in a keenly contested atmosphere.
In attendance were the Vice Chairman, the Wife of the Executive Chairman, and heads of department led by the Council Treasurer.
The competition opened with a welcome address by the Head of the Education Department, Mr. Adejumo Taiwo, who commended the students, teachers, and parents for their dedication to academic excellence.
Representing the Executive Chairman, Hon. Owolabi Azeez Ogidan, Vice Chairman Barr. Mathew Opaleye charged the pupils and students to see education as the surest path to success. He encouraged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to hard work, stressing that the future belongs to those who give their best in learning.
Primary School Category
- Obiora Chikaima – Enitan Nursery/Primary School
- Orji Philip – Central Nursery/Primary School
- Al-Amin Omokehinde – Sanya Nursery/Primary School
Secondary School Category
- Samuel Emmanuel – Aguda Community Senior Secondary School
- Chima Chinecherem – Aguda Senior Grammar School
- Nwokocha Favour – Aguda Senior Secondary School
The first-place winners from each category will represent Coker-Aguda LCDA at the Lagos State level of the competition.
The event ended with a vote of thanks delivered by the Wife of the Executive Chairman, Mrs. Ifelola Ogidan. She praised the participants for their courage, the teachers for their tireless efforts, and parents for their support. She assured attendees that the Ogidan administration remains committed to prioritising education as the foundation for future leadership and development.
Through this competition, Coker-Aguda LCDA has once again demonstrated its commitment to nurturing young talent, promoting academic excellence, and investing in the next generation of leaders.
