Aguda, Surulere – June 2, 2026

The Executive Chairman of Coker-Aguda Local Council Development Area, Hon. Ogidan Azeez, received members of the Ojora Day 2026 Planning Committee as preparations intensified for the annual cultural celebration scheduled to begin on June 5, 2026.

The visit was led by Hon. Adewale Taorid Ojora, a Prince of the Ojora Kingdom and Commissioner on the Board of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission. The delegation briefed the Chairman on preparations and activities planned for the celebration, themed “Our Heritage, Unity and Progress.”

During the meeting, committee members presented official Ojora Day 2026 vests and other event materials to the Chairman while highlighting plans to showcase the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and values of the Ojora Kingdom.

Hon. Ogidan commended the Planning Committee for its dedication to preserving and promoting the people’s cultural identity through the annual celebration. He described Ojora Day as an important platform for strengthening community bonds, celebrating heritage, and promoting unity.

The Chairman noted that cultural festivals remain vital instruments for preserving history, promoting tourism, encouraging peaceful coexistence, and projecting the unique identity of communities to a wider audience.

He reaffirmed Coker-Aguda LCDA’s support and cooperation towards the successful hosting of the event, expressing confidence that the 2026 edition would strengthen the values of heritage, unity, and collective progress embodied in the celebration’s theme.
