Deputy Chief Whip (representing nuru-oniwo ward)

Hon. Bello, Bilikisu Oluwatoyin

Hon. Bilikisu Oluwatoyin Bello was born on the 24th of May in Lagos grew up within Nuru-Oniwo Constituency. She is the 1st female Councillor to represent Nuru-Oniwo Constituency.

A Legal Practitioner and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association [NBA] and a student member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators [ICSAN].

Biography

A native of Agbowa-Ikosi in the Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, in Epe, Lagos State. She had her Primary Schools Education at Akin Jacob Memorial Estate Baptist School, Surulere before completing it at Lagos State University Staff School Ojo.

Her secondary School was at Eva Adelaja Girl’s Secondary Grammar School, Bariga. Here she was actively involved in sports and other extracurricular activities such as the Karate Club and the Coca-Cola Drum Majorette.

She is an Alumnus of the Lagos State University , Ojo where she bagged her LLB [Bachelor of Laws], she travelled to the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, Kano [Bagauda] Campus for her BL. She was called to the Nigerian Bar on the eve of her birthday in 2008. 

She served meritoriously as a Corp member in Plateau State at the Barkin Ladin Local Government. It was in Plateau State that she had her first hands on experience of Democracy where she worked as a Poll Clerk in the 2009 Rerun of Barkin-Ladi & Bokkos Senatorial Districts election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC].

After service, she returned home and worked as a Personal Assistant at Kingsworth Consult. She actively worked as a project Manager and organised LASG Youth Development Workshops, Project Recruiting Officer for KWATMA.

After that, she became a Personal Assistant to Alhaji M.A.Oyefeso, Former Commissioner at LASIEC.

Her quest to garner litigation experience brought her to the highly engaging law firms of AAA Chambers and Messrs. OLAKUNLE HASSAN &Associate, BEBILITON & Co, MBO Audit &Consultant, where she worked as an Associate Counsel in Property Law, Company Secretary and general Civil matters.

She is passionate about public health, women and Children Programmes as she believes in ‘Educate a female, educate a nation’ adage. She connects with the grassroots in her ward and at various communities with her ‘Renewed Grassroot Hope’ where she listens to assist in problem solving or provides assistance to them.

As a legislator of the 6th Assembly, she is the Deputy whip and Chairman Committee on Women and Poverty Alleviation ‘WAPA’, Committee member on Primary Health Care & Environmental Service, as well as on Education, Library services Committee. She enjoys reading, watching documentaries, travelling and Sports.

She has attended many workshops, conferences and seminars.
